Privacy statement
This page explains what personal data Exponential Clips collects, why, who else touches it and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only.
Last updated 19 August 2026.
Who is responsible
Exponential Clips is the data controller for the personal data described here. That means we decide what is collected and why, and you can hold us to it.
- [Legal entity], trading as Exponential Clips
- [Street address], Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK): [KvK number]
- hello@exponentialclips.com
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer. We are not required to, and at our size it would be a title rather than a function. Write to the address above and it reaches a person.
What we collect, and when
1. When you fill in the contact form
The form on our homepage asks for your name, work email, company and a description of the long-form content you produce. We collect exactly those four fields, plus the time you sent it. There are no hidden fields beyond a spam trap, which real submissions leave empty and which collects nothing about you.
Why: to answer you. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
2. When you book a call
Our calendar is a Calendly booking page embedded in our site. When you book, you give Calendly your name, email address and any answers to their booking questions; Calendly also records your time zone and the meeting time. We receive that booking and the confirmation email.
Why: to schedule and hold the call you asked for. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b), same as above.
3. When you simply visit
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, the pages requested, timestamps, browser and operating system. These are generated by the web server, not by us, and we do not use them to build a profile of you.
Why: security, abuse prevention and keeping the site up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a functioning, non-abused website (Article 6(1)(f)).
What we do not do
This is worth stating plainly, because most sites cannot say it. As of the date above, this website runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no heatmaps, no session recording and no tracking of any kind. We do not build profiles, we do not do automated decision-making, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Ever, to anyone.
If you write to us, you go on no list. There is no newsletter and no email sequence. You get a reply from a person, and that is the end of it unless you write back.
Cookies
Exponential Clips sets no cookies of its own. We use no local storage and no session storage. Load this site with nothing else on the page and nothing is stored on your device.
The one exception is the booking calendar. It is an embedded frame served by Calendly, and Calendly sets its own cookies inside that frame to make the booking flow work and to protect it against abuse. We cannot read those cookies and we receive nothing from them. If you would rather they were not set, do not use the embedded calendar — email us instead and we will send you three times that work.
Their policy is at calendly.com/privacy.
Who else processes your data
We keep this list short on purpose. Every name here is a company that can technically see your data, so every addition is a decision we have to justify.
| Who | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree | Delivers our contact form to our inbox | United States |
| Calendly | Runs the booking calendar and its confirmations | United States |
| mijn.host | Hosts the website and its server logs | Netherlands |
| Our email provider | Receives and stores the messages you send us | See their own policy |
Data leaving the EU
Formspree and Calendly are United States companies, so data you submit through the form or the calendar is processed outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rest on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, or on Standard Contractual Clauses where a provider is not certified under it.
We are telling you this rather than burying it, because it is the part of a privacy statement people actually care about: your data crosses the Atlantic when you use those two features, and not when you simply read the site.
How long we keep it
- Form messages and booking details: as long as the conversation is live, and up to two years after our last contact, so we can pick up where we left off. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.
- Server logs: a short rolling window set by our hosting provider, typically a matter of weeks.
- Records we are legally required to keep once you become a client, such as invoices, are kept for the seven years Dutch tax law requires.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it over in a portable format, or object to us processing it at all. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without that affecting what came before.
Email hello@exponentialclips.com and we will answer within 30 days. There is no form to fill in and no fee.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted in transit. Access to the inbox and the booking account is limited to people who need it and protected by two-factor authentication. No arrangement is perfect, and we would rather say that than promise otherwise.
Changes to this statement
If we add a tool that touches personal data, this page changes before the tool goes live, and the date at the top changes with it. We do not quietly broaden what we collect.
